Designed and donated by Vernon Wilson, one of the top 10 jewelry designers in the U.S. before he retired to Panama. Vernon has been on the Oprah Show and also featured in People Magazine. His designs are reflections of Panama and his travels around the country. Part of the profits from the sale of the Golden Frog pieces are donated to the Smithsonian to help support the fight to save the Golden Frogs. Vernon designs and hand carves the originals then makes molds so they can be reproduced. They are assembled by the blind students in his program at Vision of Hope Panama, which teaches the blind and disabled to make jewelry and cut gemstones. This program is sponsored by jewelry sales and the Episcopal Diocese of Panama and the Panama Elks Club.

Fused dichroic glass with sterling silver chain and embellishments, and pale blue chalcedony beads.
Dichroic glass is kiln fired to approximately 1500 degrees. Certain wavelengths of light will either pass through or be reflected, causing an array of color to be visible to the eye, depending upon the lighting and from which angle it is being viewed. Individual results can never be exactly reproduced and each piece of fused dichroic glass is unique.
